Graphic 45 Design Team 2012 Audition

Here are my 6 submissions, I hope you like them.

Project #1

For my first project I wanted to make something that would help preserve memories. I created a shadowbox with chipboard and a dollar store frame.

Graphic 45's Le Romantique "My Beloved" paper was perfect for this project. I altered a black plastic comb and mirror set.

First I painted them with Adirondack Gold Mixatives, then a light coat of Folk Art Champagne paint. It gave the set a real vintage look which is what I was wanting.

I made a choker from an embellishment, pearls, and mesh bling and also made a vintage looking hair comb with wire, mesh bling, and loose bling.

I colored up some I Am Roses with Fuzzy Navel and A Bit O Bubbly Starburst, and colored some leaves with My Mojito Green Starburst.

Here is my project

I call it

"Just As She Left It"

Project #2

"Island Fever"

I wanted to create a necklace that was warm & bright like the Tropical Travelogue paper stack

I grabbed some trims, embellishments, Starbursts, and loose bling.

You may recognize the embellishment since it was made with "Steampunk Debutante" with some glossy accents.

I colored the laces, trims, and flowers with Blue Hawaii Blue, Yellow Rose of Texas, and Bells of Irelend Green Starbursts.

Project #3

"Raven"

I decided to alter a plain lamp shade.

I colored it with Midnight Rendezvous Raven Starburst & Cactus Gold Glitz Spritz.

I colored some pink trim with Adirondack Gold Mixatives and started adhering trim, pearls, and some brooches I made.

Project #4

"Just In Time"

I made a bridal hat with chipboard, lace, flowers, pearls, paint, Starbursts, and a clock.

Here it is hanging on my wall, I added 3' of tule.

Project #5

"Fairy Daughter"

I wanted to change a frame I received as a gift to better suit my style.

I added a beautiful piece of paper I found in my stash and then started coloring some flowers with Magical Micas. I added some glitter glue to my daughters photo and painted her Fairy costume with Magical micas.

Project #6

"Pretty & Smart"

I made a Top Hat desk organizer. I constructed the hat from chipboard. This Top Hat has a ruler, clock, pen, calculator, and scissors all hidden inside.

I added some beautiful paper, trims, flowers, embellishments, and feathers. I wanted this hat to have hidden treasures that would be beautiful in the hat as well as out of the hat.

Box Organizer with I Am Roses!

One thing I love to do as a designer for I Am Roses is think outside of the box. I like to think of new ways to use these beautiful mulberry flowers. By doing that I feel like I'm using these flowers in all ways possible and hopefully inspiring you!

I wanted to make some kind of organizer out of chipboard. I love do build different things with chipboard as well. I wanted something that would open and be functional.

This is what I came up with and I hope you like it!

I used some beautiful brown/caramel colored roses the small ones are R3-40 and the mini ones are

Shabby Chic Vanity Set!

Here is a vanity set I altered using KARLAS001 products as well as other products.

I got this set from the dollar store, it had 2 brushes, a mirror, and a comb.

I painted them all with a white acrylic paint and then started embellishing.

I really wanted to make something that would be interchangeable so I thought of shutters.

This was made from a 12x12 piece chipboard and some beautiful Country Garden designer papers from DCWV.

I also added some recollection blings and beautiful photo's of my youngest daughter Aubrianna.

Vintage Vanity Set

This is a Christmas gift for my Mother. I altered a green dollar store brush, pink comb, and a clear plastic hair comb.

I used 12"x4" metal sheeting which I embossed with a cuttlebug folder. Then I used metal mixatives to color all the pink and clear plastic area's.

"Let It Snow" Wall Hanging

This sign was so much fun to make, I played with coordinating Lindy's Stamp Gang Embossing Powders for all the letters, after embossing I heated each letter with my heat gun and pressed a Christmas stamp on the liquid powder.

Make your own Shabby Neck Roll!

I had so much fun with this project! I haven't sewn a pillow since high school but I had to have one and I wanted these exact colors which is hard to find in the department stores.

I started out with a large piece of satin and sewed a hem on each side for the gathering, then I sewed the right sides together, gathered one side with satin ribbon and stuffed it. Once I was happy with the stuffing and shape I gathered the other side and embellished!

I used my favorite flowers from I Am Roses

Small Rose Buds T26 - 151

I sprayed the large Rose with Golden Sleigh Bells Starburst Spray and the medium roses with Cactus Gold Glitz Spritz.

Now on to what I created…

I made my tag out of chipboard and metal sheeting. I embossed it then added 3 different colors of Adirondack ink's.

The ribbon at the bottom was gathered with a straight stitch. I used a beautiful I Am Roses spray SP2-152 sprayed with Tainted Love Teal starburst spray. I used some 2 toned pale green leaves BO-508 sprayed with Crow's Nest Copper Moon Shadow Mist and some Mini White Hydrangea Petals P9-1 sprayed with Tainted Love Teal Starburst spray. Then I needed a beautiful phrase! I found one that says

"Dancing leaf butterflies

dip and swirl holding summer's memories

in their jeweled wings".

I added some beautiful glittered butterflies and finished it off with some satin/organza ribbon.

Princess Carriage Album

Here is a Princess Carriage Album I made using many different papers. I made my own template and only used pink, black, white, & silver colors! I also used some beautiful many beautiful KARLAS001 items!

On the front cover I embossed the carriage and painted it with silver metal mixatives. I used a lot of bling and fabrics as well as I Am Roses! I edged the carriage and wheels with some beautiful Silver Medium Flower trim too.

On the 1st and 2nd pages I used some beautiful Black Fancy Trim, bling and rich pink trims as well as some beautiful I Am Roses.

On the 3rd & 4th pages I used some beautiful I Am Roses, recollections bling, and some beautiful White Organza Satin trim as well as some shabby chic Thin Beige Lace Trim.

On the 5th & 6th pages (My favorites) I used some black Cynthialoowho Mesh Bling now available in many different colors and some gorgeous black Rina's Baaling.

For the last 2 pages I used some silver Cynthialoowho Mesh Bling and many other embellishments and trims!

Pretty Packed Soaps

So what's left to alter? Oh I know Luxury Soaps :)

Here are 3 I've made and plan to make this a reoccurring swap on my website

A Lil Scrap of Heaven!

The first one I chose some light creams and pinks for the colors. I used light pink organza and a beautiful ivory flat lace to cover the naked bar of soap. I then added some beautiful embellishments, I Am Roses flowers and voila it's a pretty packaged bar of soap!

For the second one I wanted a rich Victorian look, so I grabbed some beautiful chocolate brown satin and white flat lace that I colored with Lindy's Stamp Gang Cotton Candy Pink Starburst Spray.

I also used a beautiful brass frame "Funky Frame" charm from Lindy's Stamp Gang. I added a beautiful cameo to the charm and then embellished flowers, pearls, crystals, and I strung some pearls and crystals to hang from the charm.

For the last one I wanted Victorian Elegance!

I used some lush pink satin and black flat lace to cover the soap. I then added a beautiful embellishment with a cameo (I added) to the front and some gorgeous Fancy Feather Trim from Karlas001.

Handmade Christmas Scented Sachet

Here is a way to accent any room with something beautiful and your choice of any scent. I used Evergreen mist by Bath & Bodyworks. I started this project with a small burlap bag and stuffed it with 2 pieces of tissue paper sprayed with Evergreen scented mist. Then I hand sewed a satin pouch and placed the stuffed burlap bag inside. I added some beautiful I Am Roses flowers, lace, and other embellishments.

Now I have something beautiful and when I smell it I think of Wonderful Christmas Memories!

Lindy's Stamp Gang Halloween Contest!!!

My Ballerina Lamp

This was such a fun project to do. I bought a plain black lamp and altered it to match my scraproom. I call this my "Ballerina Lamp" Something you might notice right away is the lamp shade is upside down! It looks more like a body shape this way and was perfect for a tutu! I alternated pleating white tulle and pink organza from about 2/3's of the way up to the top (right side up) then once I had all the tulle and organza on I flipped it over which which made the tutu fluffy. I painted the base of the lamp with white acrylic paint (2 coats) then I sanded along some of the raised edges and added rub"n"buff.

I also used the paint on the shade. If you're going to alter a lamp please make sure to use a 13 watt bulb or lower and never leave unattended and always check for chemicals in products that may cause fumes when lamp is lit.

Then I added some beautiful Websters Pages Fancy Feather trim available @ Karlas001 Etsy Store. I then added some beautiful Pink Trim-3 along the top, some recollections sticky back bling, and some beautiful Silver Flower Trim! Here are more photo's!

I Am Roses Masquerade Mask

This mask was so much fun to make, it started out plain white, I painted it with black gesso, then sprayed some beautiful VaVaVaVoom Vixen Violet from Lindy's Stamp Gang's New Set "Tickle Me Fancy".

Then I added bling strips around the eyes and some beautiful I Am Roses small roses item # R2 - 15.

I dipped the small roses in VaVaVaVoom Vixen Violet Starburst spray and added a touch of silver leaf rub n buff to the tips and glued them around the eyes.

Then I added some beautiful Recollections Blings swirls, beaded trim and added some black Chinese Braid along the edge for a finished look. I made a fan out of purple organza and black flat lace and adhered to the side. I added 3 of the little rose buds from I Am Roses Item # T 26 - 151 and a big beautiful purple bling, I also added the purple blings around the mask. For a detailed video of this project click here!

Handmade Fan of Hubby and I using Karlas001 goodies!

I really had a lot of fun making this fan!

I started with Designer paper, thin popsicle sticks, and of course my Hot Glue Gun :)

I cut the Cardstock in half, giving me 2 6"X12" pieces. I then scored every half inch and accordian folded both pieces, adhered them together, glued the sticks on every other pleat in the back, and then glued the bottom of the sticks together.

Now comes the fun, I used beautiful trims and embellishments from Karlas001 and also my beautiful Lindy's Stamp Gang and I Am Roses.

I chose 3 photo's of my Husband of I taken last summer and cut them with my spellbinders die, added some twigs, a back, and done!

My project is a birdcage mini album measuring 6"X6" with 5 pages. I used Ladies & Gents/Trendsetter paper line from Websters. I also used a Tim Holtz on the edge die to create the edges. I used many products from Lindy's Stamp Gang, I Am Roses, and Karlas001 etsy. I made sure there was enough real estate for photo's but not to much as the paper line is beautiful. Altered Bling Frame with KARLAS001

Here is a photo frame I altered for a swap on A Lil Scrap of Heaven, I used products from Karlas001 and had so much fun making this. I started out with a plain wooden frame, painted it with black gesso. Then I added Blingy Looking Black Mesh, then added Loopy Pink Trim. I also added some Black Flat Black Pearls, a Medium Size Silver Butterfly, some Wheat Pink Spray/Leaves, and finished it off with some beautiful Iridescent Bling Embellishments.

Altered Clock w/I Am Roses

This is a clock I've had for a couple years and always wanted to change it. I just didn't know what I wanted to do. I decided I wanted it to match my shabby chic craft room so I grabbed some paint, pearls, crystals, I Am Roses, and started working. Here is a list of the flowers you can only find at I Am Roses:

White Roses/multi pack S10 - 15

Semi Open Pink Roses T25 - 518

Small White Scrapbook Flowers ZM - 15

Two Toned White and Pink Roses R5 - 32

Two Toned Green & Pink leaves ZQ L5-3

I used 2 coats of plain white acrylic paint on the entire clock,

Champagne Folk Art paint for the accents,

Antique Gold Rub'n'Buff for the face of the numbers and some accent's,

and Iridescent Medium on the larger White roses S10 - 15

I accented the clock face with a doily, pearls, and swarovski crystals.
